Q3 2022: The ‘minetilbud’ digital platform reporting 22 per cent revenue increase
Bargain hunting is extremely popular among Danish consumers, not least in these times of high inflation. The ‘minetilbud’ digital platform already has 1.3 million users in Denmark, and the number almost doubled during the Black Friday campaign.

Leaflets are still the strongest marketing channel for retailers when it comes to attracting customers and selling products, and advertising leaflets are popular among many consumers, who use them to plan their grocery and household purchases. They either read leaflets at home or dive into the very comprehensive minetilbud online universe. The combination of a print leaflet and digital access holds the key to getting consumers into the stores and to boost sales altogether.

Plays a key role for the majority of Danish households
FK Distribution distributes leaflets to some 1.9 million households. More than 500,000 of them have tailored their leaflet packages, so they get only the leaflets they have specifically selected. In the supermarket segment, where leaflets play a particularly important role for both consumers and advertisers, several chains say that upwards of 1.5 million consumers read their leaflets every week.

Some 1.3 million Danish consumers keep tabs on the offers in leaflets leaflets and catalogues on FK Distribution’s minetilbud platform. In other words, 36 per cent of the Danish population aged 18 or over seek inspiration and look for bargains from Denmark’s supermarket chains, home furnishing stores, builders’ merchants and web shops. The minetilbud app is one of the most popular in the country, with some 2.1 million downloads to date.

Current market situation strengthens minetilbud‘s position
The digital platform delivered 22 per cent revenue growth in the third quarter, bringing the YTD growth rate to 18 per cent. The improvement was driven by a growing number of leaflets and digital product views by both new and existing customers. The platform is expected to deliver double-digit growth in the fourth quarter as well, driven by innovation and new product features.

“We’re seeing consumers as well as our customers taking a greater interest in the minetilbud platform, as they feel the effects of rising inflation, higher energy costs, skyrocketing food prices and more. A great many new users visit our platform to find good deals,” says Lasse Ingemann Brodt, CEO of FK Distribution.

The numbers speak for themselves: The number of downloads of the app is up by 20 per cent over the same period last year. The number of views is up 36 per cent, while searching for bargains is up 54 per cent. Overall, traffic on the site is up by about 40 per cent compared to last year.

During the end of the Black Friday campaign on 25 November, the number of users on the platform is expected to reach two million.
